John Hagen Bernecker (March 2, 1984 – July 13, 2017; age 33) was an American actor and stunt performer who worked as Bailey Chase's stunt double in 24: Legacy.
Biography and career[]
Bernecker was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended the University of New Orleans and Southeastern University.
Bernecker started his stunt career in 2009, working on the film Anytown. After that, he worked on films like Jonah Hex, The Mechanic, Battleship, and Logan, among others. Bernecker also had small roles in some films.
Aside of feature films, Bernecker was also a notable stunt performer in shows like True Detective, Memphis Beat, and TURN: Washington's Spies.
Bernecker died of blunt force trauma on July 13, 2017. His death occurred after falling from a 25-foot balcony while working on The Walking Dead. The season 8 premiere of the show was dedicated to him. Bernecker is buried at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans.

Bernecker worked as Bailey Chase's stunt double during 24: Legacy:
- In "Day 10: 6:00pm-7:00pm", he doubled as Chase during some parts of the fight in the parking lot with Corey Hawkins, while Nico Woulard also doubled as Hawkins in some parts and fought with Chase.
After Bernecker's death, Chase wrote on Twitter that he "brought great enthusiasm and was beyond professional", while also sending his condolences.
