John Boyega

John Boyega (born March 17, 1992; age 32) is a British actor who had a recurring role as Chris Tanner in 24: Live Another Day.

Biography and career

Boyega was born in Peckham, South London, and began acting in school plays before training at the Peckham Theatre and the Identity Drama School. In 2011, he starred as Moses in Joe Cornish's science-fiction cult hit Attack The Block, winning numerous accolades including a Black Reel Award, British Independent Film Award, and a New York Film Academy Award.

Boyega's subsequent roles include appearances in Junkhearts (with Nabil Elouahabi), Law and Order: UK (with Colin Salmon), Half of a Yellow Sun (with Hakeem Kae-Kazim), and the BBC telefilm The Whale (with Charles Furness). He was originally cast as the lead in the HBO pilot Da Brick, based on Mike Tyson's life, but it was not picked up.

In April 2014, Boyega was cast in a major role in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars sequel trilogy. Christina Chong was also cast to appear in the first film, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015).
