John D. Kretschmer was the production designer of the pilot episode of 24: Legacy.

Biography and career[edit | edit source]

John Kretschmer completed a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. During his time there, he was a founding member of Student Television (STV), a student-owned cable broadcast station.

Kretschmer started his professional career in the 1980s as a set dresser. He also worked as a property master and leadman. Since 1995, Kretschmer has worked as a production designer for films like The Grave, Summer Catch, The Stranger, and Tusk. He has also worked on TV shows like Army Wives, Dawson's Creek, and The Following. From 2011 to 2018, Kretschmer worked as the production designer for Homeland, developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa.
