Johnson was a CTU Los Angeles surveillance technician active during Day 1.

Agents Johnson and Aleshire were part of the CTU team that attempted to place a tracking device on Alexis Drazen with the help of Elizabeth Nash. They were introduced to Aaron Pierce by Jack Bauer. Johnson and Aleshire set up undetectable fiber optic audio-visual coverage of the room with overlapping angles. Their cameras provided footage for the agents in charge, Bauer and Nina Myers. CTU personnel Jay, Scott, and Mike, some SWAT troops, and some Secret Service agents were also part of this operation.
