Jonathan Francis Gries (born June 17, 1957; age 66) played Joseph Wald during Season 2 of 24.
Biography and career[]
Jon Gries was born in Glendale, California, to an actress mother and a writer/director/producer father. Gries started acting at the age of 11, when he appeared in the film Will Penny.
Gries has had a long career in both film and television, and is perhaps best known as Napoleon Dynamite 's Uncle Rico. He also appeared in 2008's Taken (with Xander Berkeley and Leland Orser), and later reprised his role in the two sequels (along with Orser and Rade Šerbedžija). Other films in which he has appeared are The Comebacks, The Rundown, and Men in Black.
Aside from films, Gries also starred in the TV show The Pretender (with Patrick Bauchau and Richard Marcus). Other shows in which he has had recurring or regular roles are The Bridge (with John Billingsley), Lost (with Daniel Dae Kim and Henry Ian Cusick), Carnivale (also with Bauchau), and Beverly Hills, 90210.
