
KNB EFX is a special effects company that worked on special make-up effects and prosthetics for 24.
The company was founded in 1988 by Robert Kurtzman, Greg Nicotero, and Howard Berger. They initially provided make-up effects for horror film but branched out into other genres, working on projects such as Dances With Wolves, Misery, Reservoir Dogs, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Walking Dead.

Season 3[]

KNB started working on the show for Season 3. They provided make-up effects for people infected with the Cordilla virus, including the prosthetic dead bodies on Hector Salazar's ranch as well as David Goss. Greg Nicotero appeared during Sunny Macer's briefing showing the effects of the virus.
Ohter prosthetic work in this season included David Palmer's scarred hand, Chase Edmunds's wounds during torture and his amputated hand.
Season 4[]
Prosthetic work in Season 4 included John Hansen's amputated finger.
Season 6[]

The special feature Master Illusionists: 24's Special Effects Make-Up showed some of the work KNB did for this season. They said they made many copies of Jack's scarring prosthetics every week. It also shows them creating Hamri Al-Assad's wounds after the explosion, as well as a prosthetic armature of Anatoly Markov's arm for the scene of his finger being cut off.
Other prosthetics made for this season include Dmitri Gredenko's amputated arm.
