Karen Kim (March 28, 1968 – October 21, 2012; age 44) played a flight attendant in the pilot episode of 24.
Biography and career[]
Karen Kim was born in Torrance, California, to Korean parents. Both her parents were business owner. Her mother was also a former beauty queen. Following her mother's footsteps, Kim won the title of Miss Korea in the late eighties. She then worked as a model and cheerleader for the Los Angeles Raiders.
In the 90's, Kim decided to pursue acting. She began her professional career appearing in the show On Our Own. After that, she appeared in other television series like JAG, V.I.P., Frasier, Sheena (with John Allen Nelson), and Jake in Progress (with Vic Chao). She also debuted on the 1995 film Cover Me. After that, she has appeared on films like The Colony (with Todd Jeffries), Killing Cupid, An American Daughter (with Ping Wu), and U.S. Seals 2.
Kim discovered she had cancer in 2010. The next year, she opened an indoor activity center for children called "Romp" in Los Angeles. She said in an interview that she was inspired to do it by her daughter Skylar. Kim died on October 21, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.[1]
