Kaukistan was one of the Soviet Union's constituent states in Central Asia until it broke off in 1991. At the time of Day 5, it was part of the Russian Federation. One of its main cities was Grobnai.

Anton Beresch was born and raised in Grobnai, Kaukistan.
The Dawn Brigade was a separatist movement which aimed to free Kaukistan from Russian rule. The group was responsible for numerous bombings in Russia. Beresch was a member of this organization.
Kaukistani Army[]
In 1992, Anton Beresch retired from the National Army and joined the Kaukistani Army, where he was made Chief of Staff. From 1995 to 1998, Beresch led rebel forces in combat against the Republic, until his removal from power and exile.
