Kay Burley was born in Wigan, Lancashire in the United Kingdom. When she was 17 years old, she did her first reporting job at the Evening Post and Chronicle in Wigan. After that, Burley has worked in various shows like Good Morning, Britain and Sky News at Five. From 2008 to 2013, she hosted her own show called Afternoon: Live with Kay Burley.
Burley is also a published writer, and an actress. Aside from 24, she has appeared in shows like MI-5, and films like Incendiary and Beyond the Pole. All of her roles have been as a newscaster or reporter.
