Kya Garwood (born December 6, 1974; age 45) is a stand-in and body double for Yvonne Strahovski in the role of Kate Morgan in 24: Live Another Day. She was also the stand-in for actresses Mary Lynn Rajskub and Kim Raver on all 12 episodes. Garwood also played a presidential aide during the final episode of the season, but her scenes were deleted.

Biography and career[edit | edit source]

Kya Garwood was born in Yorkshire, England. She was interested in the show business from an early age and began participating in dances, fashion shows, and other presentations. When she was 18 years old, she attended the Anna Scher Theatre School, in London. She also graduated from Kensington & Chelsea College with a distinction in performing arts.

Garwood also participated in beauty pageants winning the title of Miss Sheffield in 1998, and ending up as a finalist in Miss United Kingdom and 2nd runner-up in Miss Europe. She then began hosting other pageants around the world, as well as working as a host and presenter in various shows.

Through her career, Garwood has worked as a stand-in for actresses like Michelle Pfeiffer, Julia Stiles, Diane Kruger, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Rachel Weisz, among others. She has also worked as a body double for some of them. Garwood has also appeared in minor acting roles on films like The Intent, Once Bitten, and I Could Never Be Your Woman.

Kya Garwood worked in 24: Live Another Day as a stand-in for female actresses Yvonne Strahovski, Mary Lynn Rajskub, and Kim Raver. Garwood also worked as Strahovski's body double in all the episodes. In "Day 9: 11:00am-12:00pm", she appeared in the shots of Morgan firing at Jack and Belchek's van (the shots facing away from the CIA building).

Garwood also played a presidential aide during the final episode of the show, but her scenes were deleted. Her character would've approached President James Heller after he boarded the plane in the last minutes of the episode.
