- "LBJ" refers to Lyndon Baines Johnson, who served as John F. Kennedy's Vice-President until his assassination on November 22, 1963. He took the Oath of Office as the 36th President of the United States two hours after Kennedy was shot. Johnson served out Kennedy's term to 1964, then was reelected as President, serving until January 20, 1969.
