Lake Oswego

Lake Oswego, Oregon, was the location where President David Palmer and his son Keith were fishing on the morning of Day 2. David was spending some bonding time with his son, and they talked briefly about Sherry Palmer, Keith's mother, whom David had divorced. A third person on the boat, Secret Service agent Rosser, picked up a transmission for the President that a situation regarding national security had arisen.

Background information and notes

• The scene at the lake was filmed ambiguously: no sign was given that Palmer was President until Rosser referred to David as "Mr. President".
• A deleted scene was filmed which features a helicopter arrives nearby the boat. It hovers close for a moment, and then Rosser gets word that it's there to pick up the President. It is available on the Season 2 DVDs.
• Lake Oswego is actually a city in Oregon. The name of the lake is Oswego Lake.
