Lauren Proctor was a waitress at Cable's Coffee Shop during Day 1.

Before Day 1[]

Lauren's sister was in a car crash, and had to move in with Lauren and her husband Henry for constant care. Unable to deal with this development, Henry forced her to choose between him or her sister, and she chose her sister.

Lauren was convicted of a DUI and ordered to report to court at 9:00am on Day 1. Though it was not her first DUI, she claimed she did not have a clinical problem, merely "bad luck." ("Day 1: 8:00am-9:00am")

Day 1[]

After the end of her shift, Lauren was driving past the Santa Clarita Power Plant on her way home when CTU agent Jack Bauer, pursued by Secret Service agents after escaping from custody, broke into her car and held her at gunpoint. She attempted to mace him, but was unsuccessful.

Jack ordered her to drive to an abandoned construction site, where he called Nina Myers and Tony Almeida at CTU Los Angeles to inform them of his situation. Myers arranged for a car to be sent to a corner nearby with ammunition for the pistol he stole from Alan Hayes. In the meantime, he had Lauren retrieve bolt cutters outside and cut his handcuffs, and made small talk with her about their days. Although Jack promised he would not harm her, he was forced to threaten her at gunpoint twice more when she attempted to leave.

By the time the car was in place, the Secret Service had arrived at the site and begun to search for Jack. He asked Lauren to retrieve the car for him, and she reluctantly agreed after he reminded her that his wife and daughter's lives were on the line. Though she initially made for the car, she changed her mind and approached Agent Hayes to tell him where Jack was hiding. ("8:00am-9:00am")

After Day 1[]

Lauren was cleared for missing her court appointment on testimony from Jack Bauer. (Findings at CTU)

Memorable quotes[]

  • Lauren Proctor: You're not the only one who has problems, Jack. You know, I just came off of a hellacious night shift, I'm due in court in 45 minutes on a DUI charge of which I'm guilty—so, you know, good luck with your crisis, okay? ("Day 1: 8:00am-9:00am")
