Biography and career[]
Lina Patel was born in Mumbai, India, but grew up between California and Texas. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Acting/Writing at New York University and then her Master's degree in Theatre at the University of San Diego. Patel is also an almuni of the WB Writers Workshop and the Center Theater Group's Writers Workshop, among many others. She has worked extensively in theater both as an actress and as a playwright.
Through her career, Patel has appeared in TV shows like Firefly, Alias, Numb3rs (with Navi Rawat and Peter MacNicol), and The Client List. She has also worked on films like Dragonfly (with Leslie Hope), Saving Jessica Lynch, and The Day After Tomorrow (with Arjay Smith and Tamlyn Tomita).
Since 2014, Patel started working as a writer for shows like The 100, Frequency, Krypton. She’s co-producer for Ava DuVernay’s “Cherish the Day”
