A month before Day 1, Tony Almeida and Nina Myers walked in to CTU together and Lisa made a wisecrack about them being together. Nina covered for them by fabricating a story about an early morning breakfast meeting at District Three. Tony was impressed with her lying skills.

- In the novel The House Special Subcommittee's Findings at CTU, Jack tells a nearly identical story about him and Nina getting called into CTU while out to dinner together, shortly after they started dating. They arrived at CTU and when George Mason questioned them arriving in the same car, Nina came up with a flawless lie which greatly impressed Jack.
