'''Luis Diaz''' was [[Senator]] [[John Donovan]]'s maternal uncle, and a political operative for his nephew's campaign for [[President of the United States]].

In the afternoon of [[Day 10]], at [[Henry Donovan]]'s fundraiser, John greeted his uncle, speaking in [[Spanish]] before Henry jokingly told them to cut it out. Henry showed John a troubling attack ad by the [[Gage]] campaign indicating that [[Nilaa Mizrani]] had prayed at the radical [[Parkland Mosque]]. Luis showed John photographs proving that Nilaa had been there.

Luis was aiding Donovan, who was the real source of the leak of the Rangers' identities. He helped frame [[Nilaa Mizrani]] for it. {{cite|10x03}}

Luis was later found out to be a part of the conspiracy, but when Henry confronted him after learning the terrorists he supported kidnapped John, Luis attacked Henry and fled. {{cite|10x10s}}

== Background information and notes ==
* Along with [[Aisha]] and [[Jerome]], Diaz is one of the minor antagonists of the season who was last seen evading the authorities and was never seen/mentioned again. Diaz's involvement in the conspiracy, and whether or not he was caught or otherwise faced justice later, is unknown.
* [[Daniel Zacapa]], the actor who played Luis, is only four years [[Jimmy Smits]]' senior.
* Luis' surname was revealed alongside the twist of his character. The revelation that it is 'Diaz' is one of the potential clues that suggest he is possibly related to [[Vanessa Diaz]]. Their shared physical resemblance is suggestive of this as well. Their age difference could suggest that Vanessa is Luis' daughter. This also dovetails with a theory that Luis's signature glasses are a clue that he is filming his interactions with the Donovans because he is actually some kind of counter-intelligence operative. The glasses recall those delivered to [[Tony Almeida]] by [[Vanessa Diaz]] in [[Solitary]]. {{-}}
