While undercover as "Renee Zadan", former agent and FBI consultant Renee Walker used several names, including Ramon's, to re-establish her cover and regain the confidence of Vladimir Laitanan. She lied about doing illicit business from the infamous Bella Noche Hotel on Avenida Juarez with Ramon and Luiz, the Peralta-Rodriguez Family, the Castorenas, and Raul Castillo while in Mexico. When Laitanan asked her about Luiz, she told him Luiz was killed nine months ago. Laitanan was still suspicious, but Renee finally gained Laitanan's full trust after sleeping with him.
