MDMA, known colloquially as Ecstasy, was an illegal recreational drug.

Dan Mounts and his brother Frank Allard planned to buy 1,000 hits of MDMA for $20,000 and then sell it on to some drug dealers in Redondo Beach for $50,000. However, their supplier Sam Krugman turned out to be an undercover LAPD officer who arrested Frank and his associates during the deal. ("Day 1: 6:00pm-7:00pm")
