Marco Sanchez (born January 9, 1970; age 51) played Rafael Gutierrez during Season 3 of 24. He was an intelligence agent from Mexico that was sent by Tony Almeida to intercept Chase Edmunds so that Chase wouldn't interfere with Jack Bauer's sting operation with the Salazars.

Biography and career[edit | edit source]

Marco Sanchez was born in Los Angeles, California to Cuban parents. He was raised in Palm Desert, California, along with his three older siblings. Sanchez studied theater throughout junior high and high school, and graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television in 1992.

Through his career, Sanchez has appeared in shows like ER (with Paul McCrane), Star Trek: Enterprise (with John Billingsley, Connor Trinneer, and Daniel Dae Kim), Desperate Housewives (with Ricardo Chavira and Doug Savant), and Murder in the First (with James Cromwell, Currie Graham, Ian Anthony Dale, and Lombardo Boyar). Also, in 2010 he had a recurring role in NCIS (with Pauley Perrette).

Aside of his work on TV, Sanchez has appeared in films like Star Trek Into Darkness (with Zachary Quinto, Peter Weller, and Nazneen Contractor), Super 8, Tyrannosaurus Azteca, Illusion, The Rookie, and American Pie 2.
