Martin was one of the New York police ESU officers on duty under Sergeant Amis at Teodore Hotel trying to intercept Tarin Faroush. He advanced towards the hotel with Amis when Tarin started moving. As the team spread throughout the hotel, Martin took one of the staircases with Amis and Faulkner. After they reached the fifth floor and walked down the hallway, Tarin managed to sneak behind them and shoot them on the back.
