Around 6:56pm, Marx and Skyer were standing guard outside Room 12, on the lookout for Jack Bauer. Jack threw a pen down the hallway, and the noise alerted both guards. As Marx and Skyer walked down the hallway to investigate the noise, Jack attacked and knocked out both men. Another guard, Stevens, attempted to help Marx and Skyer but was also knocked unconscious, and Jack took Stevens' passcard to the EMP room.
