Maurice Dunster (September 23, 1930 – September 12, 2008; age 77) was an actor, producer and assistant to Kiefer Sutherland who portrayed a security guard during Season 1 of 24. He died on September 12, 2008 in Los Angeles, California.
Biography and career[]
Maurice (Moe) Dunster was born in Deptford, England on September 23, 1930. He became close friends with Donald Sutherland after meeting him while working as an extra. He met his future wife, Susan, marrying in 1969. After Sutherland moved to Los Angeles with his family, Dunster followed in 1975. They both opened a production company with Dunster as Associated Producer and Susan as Office Manager.
Dunster's first acting role was an uncredited appearance on the 1965 film Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines or How I Flew from London to Paris in 25 hours 11 minutes. In 1974, he had another uncredited appearance on the film Alien Thunder, which starred Kiefer Sutherland's father, Donald. Dunster then worked as Mr. Sutherland's assistant on the film The Disappearance (1977).
Since 1989, Dunster was credited as working as assistant to Kiefer Sutherland himself. He also appeared in some of Sutherland's films like Truth or Consequences, N.M. (with Mykelti Williamson) and Woman Wanted.
Dunster died in Sherman Oaks, California on September 12, 2008, at the age of 77.
