On Day 2, McCollum was present at Northwest Regional Operations Complex. At approximately 8:50 am, he was having a conversation with NSA deputy director Eric Rayburn and General Allan, but was dismissed when President David Palmer confronted Rayburn regarding the meeting he set up with the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He later traveled with Palmer to the District offices in Los Angeles. He watched as the violent riots broke out in Marietta, Georgia, and Palmer dispatched the national guard to deal with the situation. ("Day 2: 1:00am-2:00am")
