Merle Dandridge (born May 31, 1975; age 44) played attorney Kristen Smith during Season 8 of 24.

Biography and career Edit

Merle Dandridge was born in Okinawa, Japan to a Korean/Japanese mother and an African-American father serving in the U.S. Air Force. After being born, they moved to the United States settling at the Strategic Air Command (Offutt Air Force Base) in Bellevue, Nebraska.

Dandridge attended Papillion La Vista High School, and then the Theatre Conservatory at Roosevelt University with a scholarship that she earned at the International Thespian Festival. After graduating, she moved to New York where she began her acting career in theater. She has performed in numerous plays like Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Aida.

Although Dandridge is primarily a stage actress, she has had roles in several television series as well. Some of the shows in which she has appeared are NCIS (with Pauley Perrette), Third Watch (with Yolonda Ross), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Newsroom (with Stephen Root), and Suits (with Gina Torres and DB Woodside).

Dandridge has also had recurring roles in The Night Shift, Star-Crossed, and Sons of Anarchy (with Tommy Flanagan and Benito Martinez). She is also known as the voice of heroine Alyx Vance in the video game Half-Life 2 and its episodes, which also featured Michelle Forbes and Tony Todd. Dandridge also did voice and motion capture performance on the video game The Last of Us (with Annie Wersching).
