Michael Saad started his acting career in theater. In 1976, he was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award for his role on The Caretaker in Chicago, Illinois. The next year, he was nominated again for his role on Bleacher Bums. In 1979, he appearing in the TV film for the play along with Keith Szarabajka.
Before his appearance in 24, Saad had a recurring guest role on JAG (with Francesco Quinn) and appeared in low-budget action films such as Surface to Air (with Michael Madsen) and Desert Thunder (with Marc Casabani).
