Nanami Hikawa

Nanami Hikawa was a mercenary and assassin for hire during Day 1.

Nanami meets Tsunehiko Minagawa

The night before Day 1, Nanami boarded a plane bound for Tokyo, registering under an alias and getting the seat next to the photographer Tsunehiko Minagawa. During the flight, after Tsunehiko had finished a call with Keiko Aikawa, Nanami approached him and asked if he knew Prime Ministerial candidate Urara Asakura. She leaned in to kiss him, and the pair went into the plane toilet to spend time together, where Nanami took his wallet. When they returned to their seats, Tsunehiko fell asleep, and Nanami sneaked past him and killed a flight attendant. She then retrieved a bomb from a fire extinguisher, before putting on a parachute and blowing the plane door. As she fell to the ground, the bomb exploded, killing Tsunehiko and the plane passengers. After she landed, she put Tsunehiko's ID card into a metal case and buried it before being driven off by a jeep. She was taken to Tamizo Kanbayashi's base as Ayako Tani, her partner, retrieved the ID. When Nanami arrived at Tamizo's, he had money waiting for her. As she washed herself up, she was interrupted by an assassin who had been surgically altered to resemble Tsunehiko. When Ayako arrived, she did not have the ID and demanded more money from Tamizo. Nanami was angry, pulling a gun on Ayako, but Ayako explained that they did not have to be at the mercy of Tamizo. ("Day 1: 1:00am-2:00am")

Ayako Tani is killed in front of Nanami

Tamizo grew angry, telling Nanami to teach Ayako how they work. Nanami spoke to Ayako, cuddling with her on a couch, and warned that she could be killed. Ayako explained that she was looking out for them both, and convinced Nanami to go along with her plan. Tamizo transferred the extra 100 million yen to them, and the three of them went into the woods to retrieve the ID. However, as soon as Tamizo got it he had the assassin shoot and kill Ayako, to the dismay of Nanami. He told her that he had one last job for her, which Nanami agreed to do. ("Day 1: 2:00am-3:00am")
