Nazanin Boniadi (Persian: نازنین بنیادی, born May 22, 1980) played a female terrorist during Season 8 of 24.

Biography and career Edit

Nazanin Boniadi was born in Tehran, Iran, during the Iranian Revolution. Because of this, her parents relocated to London where she grew up. As a young girl, Boniadi played the violin and performed ballet.

Boniadi attended a private high school and later moved to the United States where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. At UCI, she won the Chang Pin-Chun Undergraduate Research Award for molecular research involving cancer treatment and heart transplant rejection. She was also Assistant Editor-in-Chief of MedTimes, UCI's undergraduate medical newspaper.

In 2006, Boniadi decided to pursue a career in acting instead of medicine. The next year, she earned a main role in General Hospital from 2007 to 2009, as well as appearances in films like Charlie Wilson's War (with Faran Tahir and Navid Negahban), Iron Man, and The Next Three Days. She also appeared on shows like How I Met Your Mother (with Kal Penn), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (with Mary Page Keller), and Grey's Anatomy.

From 2013 to 2014, Boniadi had a recurring guest role on Showtime's Homeland. The show, which is developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, also stars Maury Sterling and Diego Klattenhoff.
