Ned Vaughn (born November 20, 1964; age 59) played Mitch Anderson during Season 4 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Ned Vaughn was born in Huntsville, Alabama. His father was a news anchor and reporter for Huntsville's CBS Television affiliate (WHNT-TV) before starting his career as a civilian public affairs officer for the U.S. Army's Space and Missile Defense Command. Vaughn's mother, Helen, is an active professional artist.

Vaughn started acting at an early age in community theater productions and through high school. He attended Lee High School and and then Birmingham-Southern College, when he decided to pursue acting as a career. After moving to New York, he started taking classes at HB Studio in Greenwich Village, and worked as a doorman at New York's Wellington Hotel.

Vaughn started acting professionally in 1985, when he appeared in the film What Waits Below. After that, he has appeared in films like The Hunt for Red October (with Tomas Arana), The Rescue (with James Cromwell, Kevin Dillon, and Timothy Carhart), Courage Under Fire (with Lou Diamond Phillips, Zeljko Ivanek, and Tim Guinee), Apollo 13 (with Xander Berkeley), and Frost/Nixon.

Aside of films, Vaughn has also appeared in numerous TV shows like China Beach (with Jeff Kober), NYPD Blue (with Ricky Schroder), Nash Bridges (with Bill Smitrovich), Crossing Jordan (with Ravi Kapoor), Commander in Chief (with Harry Lennix, Ever Carradine, and Anthony Azizi), The Unit (with Dennis Haysbert, Michael Irby, David Gianopoulos, and Max Martini), NCIS (with Pauley Perrette), Heroes (with Zachary Quinto and Kenneth Choi), Desperate Housewives (with Ricardo Chavira, Jeffrey Nordling, and Doug Savant), Castle (with Stana Katic), and Hawaii Five-0 (with Daniel Dae Kim).

Vaughn also appeared in the video game L.A. Noire, along with John Noble and Michael McGrady.
