Biography and career[]
Neisha Folkes was born in New York City. She studied at the High School of Performing Arts, and then at The Juilliard School, where she completed a Bachelor's degree in Theatre. Through her career, Folkes has performed in several Broadway shows, as well as multiple award shows including the Oscars.
Folkes first credited film appearance was as a principal dancer on the 1980 film Fame (with Paul McCrane). After that, she has appeared in films like Malcolm X (with Albert Hall), Speed (with Dennis Hopper), Showgirls, Norbit, and Little Fockers.
Folkes is a former member of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She is now the owner and artistic director of TripleTalent Musical Theater, which she started in 2006.
