Biography and career[]
Peter James Smith was born in a United States Air Force base in Taipei, Taiwan. However, he moved to the US when he was one year old.
Smith began his professional career in 1994, appearing in an episode of Silk Stalkings. After that, he has appeared in shows like ER (with Eriq La Salle), The Beast (with Ian Paul Cassidy and Wendy Crewson), Spin City, The Division, The Unit (with Dennis Haysbert, Max Martini, Michael Irby, and Dylan Kenin), and Castle (with Stana Katic).
Smith is best known for his recurring role as Ed on The West Wing. His recurring role ran from 1999 to 2006. During that time, he worked with Janeane Garofalo, Ryan Cutrona, and Glenn Morshower, among others.
