At around 8:57pm, Pham received a fire order while onboard the submarine, and handed it to Captain McColl. After McColl reviewed it, he told Pham and his XO Cohenno that the order was to fire at the Chinese carrier Shenyang. When Pham asked him if it was real, McColl told him that it was confirmed. They then prepared their torpedoes and fired two of them at the Chinese ship. Unbeknownst to them, the fire order had been sent by terrorist Cheng Zhi using the Defense override module.
