Ping Wu (born May 16, 1956; age 68) played Chinese deputy consul Su Ming during Season 4 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Ping Wu was born in New Haven Connecticut to a Chinese-American couple. His father was author and educator Nelson Ikon Wu. He also has a sister who is a genetics professor at Harvard Medical School. Wu graduated in 1974 from St. Louis Country Day School. At the age of 19, he graduated from Washington University with Bachelor degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering.

After graduating, Wu worked as an electrical engineer with National Semiconductor, in Santa Clara, California. However, in the 1980s he decided to pursue a career in acting instead. His first roles were on the TV show The A-Team, and the film Crime Killer. In 1985, he also provided voice-over work for the dubbing of Jackie Chan's Police Story.

Through his career, Wu has appeared in TV shows like Seinfeld, NYPD Blue (with Ricky Schroder and Tzi Ma), Numb3rs (with Navi Rawat and Peter MacNicol), and The Shield (with Benito Martinez). He has also provided voice-over work for animated shows like As Told by Ginger, The Wild Thornberrys, and Robot and Monster.
