RP-7 rocket fuel was a type of propellant used solely for the launching of missiles. It burned at the temperature of 5,000 degrees.
Day 7
Jonas Hodges, who controlled Starkwood, used RP-7 fuel in his Python missiles. Three of those missiles were aimed at American cities during Day 7, and were armed with the deadly prion variant bio-weapon. Tony Almeida, who infiltrated the Starkwood compound in Virginia, observed and reported the presence of the RP-7 fuel to Jack Bauer and the FBI, and the terrorist threat posed by Starkwood was finally understood by the authorities. Jack Bauer discussed the possibility of igniting the fuel with President Allison Taylor, even though she had initially refused to discuss the Starkwood threat.
Tony Almeida exploded some of this fuel using C4 charges, and the extreme heat of the inferno wiped out the prion particles in the rockets.
