Randy Goodwin (born December 24, 1967; age 52) is an actor who portrayed a security guard named Newman during Season 1 of 24.

Biography and career[edit | edit source]

Randy Goodwin was born in Omaha, Nebraska as Ivan Jerome Goodwin. He has four brothers. Goodwin went to school to study architecture, but later decided to pursue a career in acting.

Goodwin began his professional acting career in 1996, appearing in an episode of Secret Service Guy. After that, he appeared in his first feature film, American History X (with Edward Norton and Stacey Keach). A month later, Goodwin booked his first series regular role in the show Fast Track (with Douglas O'Keeffe). He has also appeared on shows like Abby and Linc's, Girlfriends, and more recently on The Vampire Diaries.

Other shows in which Goodwin has appeared are Nash Bridges (with Jaime Gomez and Eric Balfour), NCIS (with Pauley Perrette and Al Sapienza), CSI: Miami (with Tim Guinee), The Mentalist (with Matt Battaglia), and The Client List (with Andrew Borba).

Goodwin has also appeared in films like Xander Cohen, Towelhead, Flip the Script, and Home of the Brave (with Jeremy Ray Valdez and Jeffrey Nordling).
