Reed brought some documents to Agent Mizelli while he was debriefing Jack Bauer at the field office. Later, he was part of the FBI sting operation of Jibraan Al-Zarian's apartment at 2700 Eastbrook with agent Tim Moran. Using a fiber optic camera, Reed observed Hamid Al-Zarian being held captive by the mercenary Harbinson.
After they raided the apartment, Reed remained there while Jack interrogated Harbinson and forced him to talk with Tony Almeida.
