His father is a judge in Texas, and his mother earned three masters degrees, in Public Health, Anthropology, and Theology. After that, he has appeared in other films like Ball Don't Lie, Saving God, Don't Let Me Drown (with Gina Torres), and Piranha 3D. Chavira has also had recurring roles on TV shows like Six Feet Under, Monk, Welcome to the Family and a Guest Role in Castle (with Reiko Aylesworth and Stana Katic). Also, from 2004 to 2012, he was part of the main cast of Desperate Housewives (with Doug Savant and Christina Chang).
