Ricardo Antonio Chavira (born September 1, 1971; age 52) played CTU agent Bundy during Season 1 of 24. He was credited as "Richard Antonio Chavira".

Biography and career[]

Ricardo Antonio Chavira was born in Austin, but was raised in San Antonio, Texas. He is descended from a family of migrant workers who stressed the importance of a good education. His father is a judge in Texas, and his mother earned three masters degrees, in Public Health, Anthropology, and Theology. Chavira has an undergraduate degree from the University of the Incarnate Word and received an MFA from the University of California-San Diego. Chavira has a son, Tomas Antonio Chavira, born in January 2003.

Chavira began his Hollywood acting career in 2001 with a role on Barstow 2008. After that, he has appeared in other films like Ball Don't Lie, Saving God, Don't Let Me Drown (with Gina Torres), and Piranha 3D. Chavira has also had recurring roles on TV shows like Six Feet Under, Monk, Welcome to the Family and a Guest Role in Castle (with Reiko Aylesworth and Stana Katic). Also, from 2004 to 2012, he was part of the main cast of Desperate Housewives (with Doug Savant and Christina Chang).

In addition to various acting projects, Chavira is currently in the process of founding a nonprofit organization to serve communities across the U.S.

Chavira played the role of Bundy during Season 1 of 24. Bundy was the head of a CTU Los Angeles field unit tasked with rescuing Teri and Kim Bauer. Chavira appeared in one episode and was credited as a guest star.
