Robert Pine (born July 10, 1941; age 82) played Palmer's Secretary of Agriculture during Season 2 of 24.
Biography and career
Robert Pine was born in New York City as Granville Whitelaw Pine. He was raised in Scarsdale, New York. His father was a patent attorney. Pine is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University.
Pine is a very prolific actor, with more than 165 credited acting roles since 1964. He is mostly remembered for his role as Sergeant Joseph Getraer in the popular TV show CHiPs. Pine has also appeared in shows like Vanished (with John Allen Nelson), Criminal Minds, Six Feet Under (with James Cromwell), and NCIS (with Pauley Perrette).
Aside of TV, Pine appeared in the 2006 film Paved with Good Intentions, which also featured fellow 24 stars Jay Acovone, Eduardo Garcia, and Taneka Johnson. Other films in which he has starred are Red Eye, Jobs, and Dead Write.
Pine is the father of actor Chris Pine, who appears with Zachary Quinto in the new Star Trek films.
