Biography and career[]
Rolando Boyce was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. His family emigrated to the US from Panama. Boyce graduated from Senn Metropolitan Academy High School, where he was part of the Drama Club. He attended Texas Southern University in Houston as a Pre-Pharmacy student before being called to duty as an Army Reservist in the Desert Storm War. Boyce returned to Chicago in 1996, and decided to pursue an acting career.
Boyce began working in theatre at Chicago's ETA & Black Ensemble Theatre. He participated in notable plays like Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero and Susan Lori Parks Topdog/Underdog. Boyce's first credited film appearance was in 2004, on the film Under the City. The next year, he had a small recurring role as a cop on two episodes of Prison Break. Aside from that, Boyce has appeared in other shows like Numb3rs (with Navi Rawat), Criminal Minds, Scandal, and The Chi.
Boyce met LeShay Tomlinson on the set of Trapped where they played husband and wife. The two married in real life in 2008. The couple resides in Los Angeles, California.
