Roman Varshavsky (born November 1, 1968; age 55) portrayed Komar during Season 5 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Roman Varshavsky was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, but lived in Moscow until he was twelve years old. He then immigrated to New York City where he started pursuing a career in acting. Varshavsky graduated from SUNY Purchase and appeared in numerous productions in New York City. In 1992, he moved to Los Angeles to further his career into film and television.

Varshavsky has appeared in TV shows like ER (with Paul McCrane), The Shield (with Benito Martinez), Alias (with Gina Torres, Shaun Duke, and Michael Massee), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (with Powers Boothe and Ravil Isyanov), and The Brave (with Colin Salmon). He has also appeared in films like The Bannen Way (with Brittany Ishibashi), The Road to Empire (with Gino Montesinos), and Whiteout.

Aside from films and TV, Varshavsky has also provided voice-overs as the lead terrorist villain Vladimir Makarov for the video game series Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. He has also worked on other video games like SOCOM and Metro: Last Light.
