Ismael "Sam" Kanater (born 1957) played General Mohmar Habib during Season 6 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Sam Kanater was born in Casablanca, Morocco. His father was a stage actor, which led to him being involved in acting since he was a child. Kanater studied at the Casablanca Conservatory of Drama and the Rhode Island School, graduating with degrees in Drama, Dance, and Filmmaking.

Through his career, Kanater has appeared in TV series like Babylon 5 (with Andreas Katsulas), Over There (with Omid Abtahi, Sprague Grayden, and Lombardo Boyar), Alias, Sleeper Cell (with Carlos Gomez), and Ghoul. In 2014, he appeared in the pilot of FX's Tyrant, which was developed by Howard Gordon. The show also starred Moran Atias.

Kanater resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, with his wife and their four children.
