Officer Krugman was the officer who arrested Kim Bauer, Rick Allen, Frank Allard, and Melanie in a drug sting operation during Day 1.
Day 1
When Frank Allard found out that Dan Mounts had been murdered by Ira Gaines, they got some guns and planned to rob Krugman and his men of their ecstasy. When Krugman and his undercover team arrived, Frank put them all at gunpoint. Later, he struck Krugman in the nose with a gun, at which point Krugman revealed that he was a cop. He and his team put everyone there into custody, including Kim and Rick, who were not involved in the deal.
At the police station, Kim told Krugman about everything that had happened to her--being kidnapped, the safe house being attacked--but Krugman didn't believe her because Melanie had lied to him and told him that Kim had been in on the deal. She even gave Krugman CTU's phone number so he could validate what she said, but he put her back in the cell.
Later, after Kim saves Melanie from getting in even more trouble, Melanie talks to Krugman and tells him that she had lied and Kim wasn't in on anything going on at the house. Krugman called Tony Almeida at CTU, and he confirmed that what Kim said was true. Krugman released Kim from the cell and took her back to CTU in a police car.
However, the car was ambushed by Andre and Victor Drazen's men. As they came to the car, Krugman was shot and Kim was taken. He was seriously injured by his gunshot wound, but ultimately survived.
Background information and notes
- It's possible that Krugman's first name is "Sam." Actress Mariah Pasos is credited as playing "Sam's Partner" in Day 1 6:00pm-7:00pm. While it's unknown which character this is meant to be, it seems likely that it's Krugman's female partner in the undercover bust, making "Sam" Krugman's real or undercover name.
