Samuel Osei Sarpong (December 19, 1975 – October 26, 2015; age 39) played Teshon during Season 8 of 24.
Biography and career[]
Sam Sarpong was born in London, England, but moved to Los Angeles with his father, a native of Ghana, when he was 11 years old. He has a sister, June, who is a television presenter. Sam attended El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, California, where he was a basketball prospect. When his father moved to Pasadena, Sarpong stayed at a friend's house so he could continue attending El Camino Real.
When his goal of becoming a professional basketball player didn't come through, Sarpong turned to acting and modeling. As a model, he won the 1998 MAA Fasion Award for New Male Model of the Year. He was also consistently listed in multiple magazines lists of most beautiful people like YM Magazine, Sankofa, US Weekly, and Mens Fashion Magazine. Sarpong modeled for Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci, and Versace.
Sarpong hosted various television and award show programs for MTV and BET cable network, made various TV show guest-spots and appeared in numerous independent horror and comedy films. He also had a brief recurring role on the series Boston Public (2001) and Bones (2015, with T.J. Thyne). Sarpong was also the co-creator of LA Live the Show, which ran from 2013 to 2014.
Aside from TV and film, Sarpong was also a musician and rapper. He was part of a music crew called Future Stars, which also featured Mike Kasem, son of famous discjockey Casey Kasem. He also appeared in music videos for artists like Genuine, Maxwell, and The Braxtons.
Sarpong died on October 26, 2015 after jumping off from the Colorado Street Bridge in Pasadena, California.[1]
