This article's subject relates to Season 6 of 24.

Sameer Al-Afted was a member of a terrorist cell associated with Mohmar Habib and Abu Fayed prior to Day 6.

Before Day 6[]

Sameer served on the staff of General Mohmar Habib in the 1990s. He was known to have funded radical groups through money laundering.

Sameer was killed by Afghan forces in a raid two years prior to Day 6.

Day 6[]

After Abu Fayed was apparently rescued from CTU Agents Jack Bauer and Mike Doyle by terrorist comrades, Fayed demanded that the rescuers put him in contact with their alleged leader, General Mohmar Habib. The men were in fact undercover CTU operatives led by Agent Jamal, and the rescue was staged. Mohmar, whose family was threatened, took the call from Fayed and spoke as if he sent the men. However, he mentioned the name of Sameer as if he were still alive, when Fayed was aware that Sameer had been dead. This was Mohmar's signal to Fayed that he was under duress, and that the men with Fayed were Americans, not terrorists. Fayed then killed or seriously injured the agents, and escaped the trap.
