Santa Monica was an American city in southern California, located on the Pacific Ocean a few miles west of Los Angeles.

The Santa Monica Pier was a recreational pier on the city's waterfront. During Day 6, Dmitri Gredenko agreed to lure Abu Fayed to the pier in exchange for immunity, wearing a tracking device implanted in his arm. At the pier, however, Gredenko double-crossed CTU, telling Fayed to chop off his arm so they could escape from the authorities. Fayed and Gredenko made it to a bar near the pier, where Gredenko shouted to the patrons that Fayed was responsible for the terror attacks of the day. While Fayed was beaten, Gredenko escaped, eventually expiring beneath the pier due to blood loss.
