Biography and career[]
Scotch Ellis Loring was born in the city of Limestone, Maine. He is the youngest of four boys and also has three sisters.
Loring's career started when he auditioned for the TV show Fame. He was one of the last five actors considered for two spots, but was not chosen. However, he continued to pursue a career in TV and film. Loring has appeared in TV shows like Matlock, Malcolm in the Middle (with Karim Prince and Arjay Smith), and Desperate Housewives (with Ricardo Antonio Chavira and Doug Savant).
Aside of TV shows, Loring has also appeared in films like Vanilla Sky, Fight Club (with Zach Grenier), Steel, and Firehouse Dog (with Steven Culp). Loring is also a musician and singer. While living in San Diego, he was the frontman of a grunge band called Manchild. In 2006, he released a solo album titled Standard Scotch.
Loring has been in a relationship with producer and director Todd Holland. Holland created the animated show Wonderfalls, where Loring had a recurring voice-acting role as both Muse and Dr. Ron Campbell. The couple married in 2008, and have three children together.
