Studio set locations are listed at the bottom of the page.
This season was filmed entirely in the Los Angeles area.
12:00am-1:00am[]
- Studio sets: ↓ Data services scene at CTU, ↓ Richard Walsh's party
Kuala Lumpur[]
The opening shot is stock aerial footage of Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Towers, facing east. There is also stock footage of a street in Kuala Lumpur (or possibly another far eastern country). The shots of Victor Rovner walking through the crowd to the building were then shot on a backlot set constructed with fake walls in the parking lot of the CTU soundstage, located at around 21300 Erwin Street in Woodland Hills. The soundstage and parking lot have since been demolished and replaced with the Triana apartment complex.
Los Angeles[]
Stock footage of a helicopter flying over downtown Los Angeles, facing west, establishes the city.

The hotel doubling for the Palmer campaign hotel was the Andaz West Hollywood, located at 8401 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. The Sunset Tower Hotel (The Argyle, at the time) can be seen across the street off the balcony.

With the exception of the initial establishing shot, the interior and exteriors of the Bauer residence were filmed at 4620 Rubio Avenue in Encino.

Walgreens[]
After Jack has left his house, he is seen driving East on Sherman Way and stopping at the intersection with Van Nuys Boulevard, next to the Walgreens (a sign for "Sizzler" is visible in the background). A bus displaying Palmer's face stops alongside him. On the way to the furniture store, Janet York and Kim Bauer drive south on Van Nuys Boulevard past the same Walgreens store. Later, after leaving the Paladio Furniture, they drive past the same intersection, going east on Sherman, while Teri and "Alan" turn left off of Van Nuys and head west down Sherman.
CTU Los Angeles[]
The interior and exterior of CTU-LA was filmed at a Fox Interactive Media office located at 1925 South Bundy Drive, with the exception of the small scene in Data Services at the start of the episode, which was shot in the studio. The building has since been now occupied by the online advertising company Rubicon Project, who bought part of Fox Interactive Media in 2010, but is now part of the Riot Games Los Angeles campus.
Paladio Furniture[]
Paladio Furniture is a real store in Van Nuys, located at 6732 Van Nuys Boulevard. The exteriors and interiors of the building were used, as well as the rooftop. The entrance alley to the rear of the store was actually filmed several miles away at 11916 Sheldon Street.

2350 Dunlop Plaza[]
The establishing aerial shot of the building is the Glendale Plaza, located at 655 North Central Avenue in Glendale. The north parking garage scenes were filmed at 451 South Beaudry Avenue, with the rooftop scenes being filmed nearby on the roof of the Los Angeles Center Studios at 475 Boylston Street. The scenes in the corridor were also filmed in the tower of the practical locations area of the studios.

The shack where Ira Gaines meets Mandy and Bridgit was filmed at the Hacienda Vasquez next to the Vasquez Rocks in Agua Dulce.

Then it shows another aerial shot of Jack driving past the turning to the station on Sheldon Street again.

Finally, Jack is seen driving south on North Topanga Canyon Boulevard, before turning right onto Sherman Way and parking outside the Scotland Yard Pub (22041 Sherman Way). This is where he scans in the thumb of the dead assassin.

The scenes with Kim and Janet escaping, and encountering Larry Rogow and Rocco, were shot on the alley backlot that was previously used as the Malaysian street in episode 1. The Malaysian street was extended, and fake walls were used to create the backlot. It was located at the CTU soundstage parking lot at 21300 Erwin Street in Woodland Hills, and has since been demolished and replaced with the Triana apartment complex.

The old power station where Bridgit hid the key card was built by the 24 team in the Vasquez Rocks area, near to where Mandy landed in the previous episode.
Platt's Auto Body[]
When Kim Bauer and Janet York ring Teri from Platt's Auto Body, they are behind Captain Ed's Shop on Van Nuys Boulevard. This is right by Paladio Furniture and the parking lot where Janet's arm was broken. Once they start running again, the filming location switches.
North Hollywood[]
After Kim and Janet have run away from Platt's Auto Body, they run north down Harlem Place and onto West Fifth Street in downtown Los Angeles. Janet is hit by a car outside of TBC Jewelry Collection at 125 West Fifth Street. Kim is then dragged back down Harlem Place.

After Jack's phone goes off, he and Jessie Hampton chase Penticoff down the alley of the backlot used last episode, located in the CTU soundstage parking lot.
Gaines' meeting place[]
Gaines meets up with Dan and Rick and takes custody of Kim in the parking lot of the CTU soundstage across the street from the Trillium Towers in Woodland Hills (where the alley backlot set was). The parking lot and soundstage have since been replaced with the Triana apartment complex.

Kim is driven out of the jail, which was in fact just the parking lot of the CTU soundstage below the Trillium Towers (the same entrance Jack and Lauren Proctor drive into in episode 9). The car drives east and gets crashed into just as it reaches Variel Avenue.

Kim's kidnap[]
Again the scenes of Kim being kidnapped were shot just off Variel Avenue next to the Home Depot, with her kidnappers driving away north on Variel. After she has been tied up, there is an aerial shot of her kidnappers driving away along the 134 Freeway past Glendale Plaza (a similar shot to the one in 1:00am-2:00am).

Driving to oil pumps[]
There is another shot of the Drazens' van driving, this time east on I Street in Wilmington. The Dreams strip club on Cristobal Avenue is visible in the background.
Oil pumps[]
Jack is taken and handcuffed to the oil pumps in Baldwin Hills. The van drives east on S Fairfax Avenue, passing the bridge over S La Cienega Boulevard, and Jack is handcuffed next to the set of two pumps just south of the road.
2127 Grand Avenue[]
A body shop at 21316 Sherman Way, in Canoga Park, was used to film the scenes at 2127 Grand Avenue.
Harris drives away[]
After the trade has happened, Harris drives Alexis away and pulls into 11916 Sheldon Street.
Car ramp[]
The closer shots of Harris parking and finding the tracker on Alexis were shot at the 24 soundstage loading dock on the east side of the building. In later seasons, this area was used as the exterior of CTU.

- Studio sets: ↓ Palmer hotel suite, ↓ CTU interior
Jack driving[]
The episode opens with a shot of the factory on Sheldon Street, and also Jack's car driving past the entrance to the factory (similar to the opening shot of 2:00am-3:00am).

The scenes at the dock were filmed at Al Larson's Boat Shop, located at 1046 South Seaside Avenue. Al Larson's name can be seen several times throughout the scenes.
Palmer hotel exterior[]
The establishing shot of the hotel, as well as Palmer's press conference and the news reports, were again filmed at the exterior of the Warner Center Marriott at 21850 Oxnard Street. The scene of Palmer divorcing Sherry was filmed in the ballroom of the Marriott. All the upstairs scenes in the hotel suite were shot on stage.
Jack in ambulance[]
The scene of Jack in the ambulance, when he asks the Coast Guard officer to call the harbormaster, was shot on the east side of the soundstage at 6250 Canoga Avenue, outside the loading bays. A fake seafront background has been put behind the fence to make it look like the port.
Driving to CTU[]
As Jack sets off, there is a shot of his car driving on Anaheim Street again over one of the bridges. After he speaks to Paul Wilson, there is an interior shot of his car driving west on Anaheim past the intersection with Henry Ford Avenue. Later it shows a similar shot of him driving west, a little further along the road.
CTU parking garage[]
The showdown between Jack and Nina in the CTU parking garage was shot at the Warner Center Marriott parking garage in Woodland Hills.
Studio sets[]
The main 24 production office was a large building at 6250 Canoga Avenue in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. Within the studio set location of this building, Joseph Hodges constructed many different set locations for many of the season's indoor scenes. Throughout the course of the season, certain sets were converted or redesigned into other locations. In 2005, the building was demolished and converted into the Triana Apartment Complex, and the show's production office moved to Chatsworth for Seasons 4 to 8.
CTU Los Angeles set[]
- Episodes: All
After the pilot was picked up, the CTU Los Angeles set was built in the main production studio. As the CTU scenes in the pilot were shot at the Fox Interactive Media office on Bundy Drive, the interior of that building was painstakingly recreated on the soundstage. Virtually all of the interior scenes from episode 2 onwards were shot here, as well as a small scene in episode 1 when Victor Rovner speaks to Data Services.
Walsh party set[]
- Episode: "12:00am-1:00am"
The party that Richard Walsh is attending when he is informed of the hit on Palmer was built and shot on the main stage on Erwin street.
Palmer hotel set[]
- Episodes: All except "12:00am-1:00am", "9:00am-10:00am", "10:00am-11:00am", and "11:00am-12:00pm"
From episode 2 onwards, the Palmer hotel suite was duplicated on the soundstage. After the pilot scenes were filmed at Andaz West Hollywood, the new set included several rooms and corridors with a layout and appearance noticeably different from episode 1. The hotel suite included a large main area split into a corridor, a living room area and a dining table, with a balcony running along the outside; and doors leading to a kitchen, a side room, and two "swing set" rooms that were either Keith's bedroom, an area with sofas, or David and Sherry's room. The corridors and lifts outside the suite were adjoined as well, and scenes on the 12th floor (the sting operation in Alexis Drazen's hotel room, and Mike Novick's room) and the 9th floor (Maureen Kingsley's room, and a room where David secretly met Patty Brooks) were also shot in this same set.
St. Mark's hospital set[]
- Episodes: "4:00am-5:00am" and "5:00am-6:00am"
The interior of St. Mark's Hospital was built at the main 24 soundstage. It was the first set built with an octagonal room design. It consisted of a reception area, a corridor leading to an octagonal seating area, with an octagonal operating room and another corridor leading off from here. The corridor had lifts to the "second floor", which was the same set with the seats removed from the seating area. There was a room off the reception area that had a coffee machine in episode 5, and changed into Janet's room where she was killed. The reception re-used a glass panel window from the alleyway backlot set of episode 3, and the reception and corridor was redesigned as Cofell Enterprises later.
Van Nuys precinct set[]
- Episode: "4:00am-5:00am"
The interior of the Van Nuys Precinct was all built on stage in Woodland Hills. There was a main corridor with steps at one end and an area with chairs at the other end, and several rooms led off the corridor: Sergeant Newman's office, a room Jack was held in, the interrogation room, a room with a payphone, and a holding room.
Gaines control room set[]
- Episodes: "5:00am-6:00am" through "11:00am-12:00pm"
Ira Gaines's main computer room, and the adjoining room with mirror, was built on the main 24 soundstage on Erwin Street. It formed a "basement" area to the hacienda building at Sable Ranch, where the interior of that building was filmed.
Compound guest house set[]
- Episodes: "6:00am-7:00am" through "11:00am-12:00pm"
The interior scenes at the storeroom where Kim is held hostage were filmed on a built part of the stage. A small area of courtyard was built outside the door, to match the building at Pierce College. However the items on the shelves change from shots done on Pierce College (outside the room looking in) or on stage (inside the room). The adjoining barn room, where Teri and Kim spend most of their captivity, was also part of this build on the stage. There was a small side room inside the barn, and large doors leading to the "outside".
Medical station 3 set[]
- Episode: "7:00am-8:00am"
The interior of Medical Station 3 at the San Clarita Power Plant was built on stage.

The interior of the Latham Group building was built on set: the main room with bookshelves and sofas in, and also a small corridor outside with a window where Frank Ames calls David Palmer.
Cofell Enterprises set[]
- Episode: "9:00am-10:00am"
All of the scenes on the 14th floor of 21500 Riverside Drive, the offices of Cofell Enterprises, were shot on stage. The small office area and balcony where Nancy and Ted Cofell start is the balcony of the Palmer hotel set, but once they exit that area it switches to the main corridor build of the offices that was based on the St. Mark's hospital set (the octagonal reception area is the same shape). The lifts have been redressed to resemble the lifts at LA Center Studios where the ground floor and stairwell scenes were shot. There is also a logo for the Giant company in this corridor, which reappears in Rick Allen's bedroom later in the season.
Office set[]
- Episodes: "11:00am-12:00pm" and "8:00pm-9:00pm"
There was an office set built on the soundstage, which was used as interior of George Ferragamo's office in episode 12 with a day backing out of the window. It was then re-used in episode 21, as Ryan Chappelle's office at Division, this time with a night backing.
Hangar set[]
- Episode: "12:00pm-1:00pm"
The hangar that Alexis Drazen drives out of at the end of the episode was the back door of the Woodland Hills soundstage, with a plane tail built to dress the location.
Grace Memorial hospital set[]
- Episodes: "1:00pm-2:00pm" and "7:00pm-8:00pm"
The scenes at Grace Memorial Hospital were shot mainly on the soundstage at Woodland Hills, using the set that had previously been St. Mark's hospital and the Cofell offices. It consisted of a main corridor with rooms off it, including room 7 where Teri and Kim were examined and room 3 where Nina saw Jovan Myovic. There was also a re-use of the green tiled walls from St. Mark's Hospital operating room for the cupboard that Jovan hides in. The shot of Jovan through the window, looking down at the Bauers leaving, was also done on stage, but the shots of what he was looking at were filmed at Bundy Drive. In episode 20, when Phil Parslow is taken to the hospital, there are shots in the same set.
New Orleans bar set[]
- Episode: "2:00pm-3:00pm" and "3:00pm-4:00pm"
The bar where Robert Ellis is, as well the adjoining bathroom where he is killed, was built on the Woodland Hills soundstage.
Rick's garage set[]
- Episode: "2:00pm-3:00pm"
At Rick Allen's house at 1804 Glade, everything was shot on location except for the interior of the garage which was built on stage.
Tuptas set[]
- Episode: "5:00pm-6:00pm"
After filming scenes at the Tuptas restaurant in the Inn of the Seventh Ray in the previous episode, in episode 18 it was all shot on set in Woodland Hills. Chairs and tables were borrowed from the Inn of the Seventh Ray and the restaurant was re-created, although a fireplace was built against one wall rather than the fireplace in the center of the room that the restaurant actually had. The wine cellar where Phil Parslow examines Teri Bauer was also part of the set.
Kim's jail set[]
- Episodes: "7:00pm-8:00pm" and "8:00pm-9:00pm"
The jail where Kim Bauer and Rick Allen were taken was a set built at the Woodland Hills soundstage. It was a revamp of the set that had previously been two different hospitals and Cofell Enterprises earlier in the season. The set included a waiting and booking area, an interrogation room with mirror, and a set of cells with an octagonal shape.
21911 Kipling set[]
- Episodes: "7:00pm-8:00pm" and "8:00pm-9:00pm"
The interior of the Saugus detention center facility was built on the Woodland Hills stage, including Jack and Victor's cells, the CCTV room, the corridors and the entrance area with armory.
Drazen shelter set[]
- Episode: "7:00pm-8:00pm"
The interior of the small shelter that Andre Drazen and Harris are in when staking out the Saugus detention center was constructed on set. Several hay bales and the metal container that Eli's body was hidden in were re-used from the barn set earlier in the season.
Alexis's hospital set[]
- Episode: "9:00pm-10:00pm"
The hospital bed where Alexis Drazen speaks on the phone was set up at the Woodland Hills soundstage.
Nikola's Delights set[]
