A scene shot "on location" refers to any filming that took place outside of the main studio set section of the production headquarters building at 6250 Canoga Avenue in Woodland Hills. Studio set locations are listed at the bottom of the page.

The scenes on Lake Oswego in Oregon was filmed on Franklin Canyon reservoir in Beverley Hills. The mountains in the distance were added by computer effects.

The scenes at the Matheson house were filmed at 16711 Bosque Drive in Encino.
Northwest Regional Operations Complex[]
Franklin Canyon Drive
David Palmer is driven down Franklin Canyon Drive, along a stretch that runs next to the reservoir. The 24 team built a barrier at the start of the stretch of road and a fake doorway at the end, that covers the start of a tiny tunnel at the end of the road.

Alley off Violet Street
Kim drives South on Mateo Street, then turns right onto Violet Street and hits roadworks. She then turns right again to drive North down an alley. She almost reaches the end of the alley when Gary pulls up in front of her (he's traveling West on East 7th Place). She then gets out and runs back towards Violet Street and hides behind a bin.

Running across 7th Street
Kim runs from Mill Street across 7th Street to a chain link fence where Megan is. She then uses a payphone on the corner of 7th & Wilson, before walking down south Wilson. In the deleted scene, she sees a police car coming out of Mill Street so turns back down Wilson and says hi to a father by the coach yard.

The shot of George Mason driving on the freeway shows the Newhall Pass Interchange. George's car is on the Interstate 5, taking the turning onto Highway 14.

The scene at the phone switching station, where Cam Strocker is kidnapped, was filmed on Vista Del Valle drive in Griffith Park, right next to the Griffith Helipad and round the corner from a location used in Season 1 when Teri Bauer escapes from Kevin Carroll.

East along 1st Street
As Eddie Grant drives the van away from CTU, he is seen driving East along 1st Street. The shot is filmed from the intersection with Hewitt Street.

Under 1st Street bridge
Eddie and his men then drive under the 1st Street Bridge, after driving down a (now closed off) road parallel to 1st Street. They watch the explosion at the CTU building, looking towards Downtown LA. Although added in post-production, the smoke seems to place the CTU building somewhere on East 1st Street.

Under the bridge[]
1st Street
The opening shot of the episode shows Downtown Los Angeles viewed from the 1st Street Bridge, as emergency services drive to CTU. It then pans down to Eddie Grant's van parked on N Santa Fe Avenue. When they leave, the van drives north up that road.

Kate sees Marie entering what was a hangar belonging to McNabb Aviation Services, at the northeast end of Whiteman Airport. The hangar was demolished in 2007. She follows Marie inside and out of the back, where she is confronted next to the Able Air hangar to the northeast. The bomb truck was parked by some buildings between the two runways, which have now also been demolished.

The interior and exterior scenes at the warehouse at the corner of Meridian & Moorpark in Studio City were shot on the backlot of Universal Studios in North Hollywood. The alley that was used was the "Kong Alley" that ran adjacent to the King Kong experience building and was used for the gang scene in Bruce Almighty. It has since burned down in the 2008 backlot fire.

Studio City[]
Looking towards the archway
Again the scenes in Studio City were filmed on the Universal backlot. The opening shootout is again filmed in Kong Alley, but when they escape among the smoke, the location is the "New York alley" and they drive southeast out of the alley, through an archway and onto the New York Street. The New York alley section has burned down and since been replaced with the "modern NY street".

Again Max is seen on board the Chula Mia yacht in the Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica. The buildings on Admiralty Way can be seen in the background. Later in the episode, the yacht drives south out of the marina.

Studio sets[]
Like last season, the main production offices of 24 were located at 6250 Canoga Avenue in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. The CTU Los Angeles set was kept, but the other sets were converted into new locations for this season by Joseph Hodges. This season introduced live videoconferencing scenes, so some sets were only seen through a television or computer screen.
In 2005, the studio building was demolished and converted into the Triana Apartment Complex, and the show's production office moved to Chatsworth for Seasons 4 to 8.
Seoul interrogation set[]

The room where Jason Park was interrogated was built in the studio, as was the small corridor and side room where Ted Graham and the other generals were situated.
CTU Los Angeles set[]

The CTU set from last season was used again in this one, but after episode 3 it was dressed with debris and partially demolished to show the damage from the bomb attack. A hole was removed from the back wall of the conference room, glass panels were removed from the director's office and temporary IT equipment was brought in on trolleys.
Northwest regional set[]

The Northwest Regional Operations Complex was constructed as a studio set. It stood in for the multiple levels of the facility, using the same lift with different doors, and included the main operations center, Palmer's office, and holding rooms. The stairs down to the entrance were re-used from the 21911 Kipling set from last season, and the holding room corridors were re-used from the CTU corridors.

The Afghan Prime Minister's office was a set constructed in the main production studio. It was used again for Barghouti's conversation with David Palmer.
Oregon retreat set[]

The Oregon presidential retreat was a set built in the place of the Palmer hotel set from last season. It contained a main area with seating and Palmer's desk, as well as a conference room and a side room down a corridor. It also contained a small walkway outside the building, built to match the Pierce College location used for the exteriors of the building.
Visalia plane set[]

The interior of a plane was built for the scenes of Jack Bauer and Nina Myers flying to and from Visalia.
Syed Ali's bathroom set[]

The bathroom and adjoining corridor of 18 Starling Court were constructed on set, to match the real house location but to allow filming of the gunfight.

The interior of the mosque where Syed Ali was captured was all built on set. It featured an entrance room, men's and women's prayer areas, a nursery for children, a side room with a trapdoor and a basement corridor and room where Ali was interrogated.
R&J Lumber set[]

R&J Lumber, where Marie Warner went to the retrieve the bomb trigger from Marko Khatami's locker, was built on stage. It consisted of a main area with the manager's office to the side.

Lonnie's cabin set[]

The interior of Lonnie McRae's cabin was built as a set. The main cabin had a living room, bathroom and a corridor at the back that led to a spiral staircase. The spiral staircase re-used the water tower from last season (where Rick Allen waited for Jack Bauer), and led down to a bomb shelter full of shelves of supplies.

It was made to match the basement corridor at the St. Luke Medical Center location, and contained various pieces of medical equipment covered by plastic and a medicine cabinet on the wall.

The plane that Secretary of State Alex was in when videoing into the White House was built on set, based on Andre Drazen's plane from last season.

Roger Stanton is in a hotel room set when he conferences into the 25th Amendment discussion. The hotel room re-uses the walls from Palmer's hotel set from last season.
Hewitt's loft set[]

Alex Hewitt's loft was constructed on set. It consisted of a lobby area and lift outside, and the then the main loft space included a main area with sofa, a computer area behind a chain link fence, a bedroom area with a hidden door, a cupboard with shelves that Jack locked Hewitt in, and a shelving area with a hidden passage. The hidden passage led to a series of tunnels between the walls, a broken bricked area and a staircase upto a window.
Matheson closet set[]

A spare bedroom, closet and attic were constructed to match the 12 Blue Tree Drive location, for the scene of Kim Bauer escaping from Gary Matheson, falling through the ceiling and shooting him dead.

Coliseum set[]

There was a small section of the Los Angeles Coliseum that was built on the soundstage, for when Jack is listening in on the conversation between Sherry Palmer and Peter Kingsley.
