Season 5

The fifth season of 24 follows the 5th day in Jack Bauer's life. The season premiered with 2 episodes in the US on the 15th of January 2006 with 2 more hours being shown on the 16th of January. The rest of the season will air in a regular timeslot of 9 p.m. ET every Monday.

In the United Kingdom, two episodes aired on Sunday 12th Febuary 2006 on Sky One and the rest of the season will air with one epsiode every Sunday night at 9pm on that chennel.

Backstory

Season five of "24" will picks up 18 months after Season 4's end, with the presumed-dead Jack Bauer living under the false identity of Frank Flynn with a woman (Connie Britton) and her son (Brady Corbet).

Season 5 Plot

After Season 4, Jack Bauer will be settling into his new life after having to fake his own death. Bauer returns to the CTU to deal with Season 5's a plot involving Russians and VX Gas. There were rumours that a Main Character would be killed off in the first three episodes. The rumors proved to be true when David Palmer was assassinated in the first five minutes of the first episode, then Michelle Dessler was killed by a car bomb minutes later that also almost killed Tony Almeida.(He has since woken up from emergency care.) In addition, during Episode 12(6:00pm-7:00pm), Edgar Stiles is killed along with many other CTU employees when nerve gas is released in CTU.(This event was honored with the fourth occurrance of the silent clock.)

Tony Almeida, Chloe O'Brian, Bill Buchanan, Audrey Raines, Curtis Manning, Edgar Stiles, and President Charles Logan will all be back, while Jean Smart and Sean Astin are joining the cast, playing the First Lady and a CTU agent respectively.
