Shirō Sano (born March 4, 1955; age 70) is a Japanese actor who played the role of Genji Onitsuka in the Japanese version of 24.
Biography[]
Shirō Sano was born in Yamanashi, Japan, but grew up in Tokyo and then Matsue, Shimane. As he grew up, he returned to Tokyo to enter art school. Sano also joined several theatrical troupes.
Sano started acting professionally in the 80s. Since then, he has had a prolific career appearing in numerous feature films and TV productions. Some of the films he has worked in are Violent Cop, Cat's Eye, Godzilla: Final Wars, Hayabusa, and Fukushima 50. Sano has also had regular and recurring roles in TV series like Gimu to engi, Shiawase no shippo, Ultraman Max, Aishiteru: Kaiyô, Deka wanko, Mozu, Ten Secrets, and Watashi-tachi wa Doka Shiteiru.
Sano has been married to fellow actress Maki Ishikawa since 1986.
